A Cheerful "Giver"
April 2, 2020, 10:00 AM

As I sit and read over 2 Corinthians primarily chapter 9 verses 6-9. I hear the words ringing “God Loves a Cheerful giver” and “God is able to bless you abundantly”. I think today as our nation is facing the crisis of COVID-19 giving can be more of a “sacrifice” today than it has ever been before. There is no hiding the fact that the gospel must continue. We as the body of Christ must continue to spread the message of hope to a lost world during this time of crisis. I want to encourage you each and every day to find a way to pray, support and encourage one another. More than ever before the world NEEDS the body of Christ! Even if you don’t see it, the world is looking at the church. Not only is giving such as “Tithing” important and critical right now, but “GIVING” in the manner of “Giving Hope, Giving Encouragement, and Giving in Love”. Let each of us sacrifice a little more these days as we face each day together. Let us share hope, encourage, and Love one another like never before.

We at ECN are praying for you and your family and ask that you post prayer request to our website, and join us for Worship Services online each Sunday at 11:00am.

Blessings - Pastor Jonathan W. Pannell

2 Corinthians 9:6-9 (NIV)

6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.”
