VOTE!

It is important that each and every Christian takes the time to VOTE this election year! Your Voice Must be heard! Please take the time to make sure that you and your family are registered to vote. This election will be major for each of us and country as we know it. I want to encourage you to do your research before you vote, Especially if you are planning to vote for Hilary! Hilary Clinton is one person we do NOT need in office, and is an evil woman who will destroy this country as you know it. There are many things that are on the line including Religious Freedom, Human Rights, Terrorism, our support and relationship with Israel and so much more.

We ARE living in the LAST DAYS and mark my words,
Jesus is coming back for His Children VERY SOON!

Our Country must turn its attention back to God. God is the only way we can save this country, not through a political candidate. However, Hilary will not be the one to bring us any closer to God as a country. You, your children, and your families generations to come will all be affected by the next election.

I urge you to vote, God has given us prayer and when we pray we have been given a voice to God, we to have a voice with man and that is to vote. Let your Voice be Heard, Pray and Vote this election year. From the creation of man we have been given the freedom of choice by God, and this year we will have a choice to make. Christians have to stand up for there Faith and protect the freedoms that we have in serving our God.

What are You Asking For?

2 Kings 2:9 (NKJV)

And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”

Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”

I would like to Ask You, what are you asking for?....

I think that this passage is interesting in the face that when Elisha asked he asked for a double portion of "your spirit". To often to many times we are to worried about asking God for stuff, and not asking for His spirit. You see in this text nothing physical, no stuff. He asked for "your spirit" and a double portion at that...

Today I want to challenge you.. to ASK just like Elijah said to Elisha "Ask"
Ask today that God will give you a double portion of His Spirit, stop worrying about stuff in your life, if you have Him everything else will fall into place.

friENDs to the ..END

Following a great Sunday Morning Service, I keep thinking about this past Sunday Morning's message... FRIENDS....friENDs

As a Christian it is vitally important that we choose our friends wisely. We should watch our company and who we surround our lives with, if we are not careful people can slowly but surly pull us down. We should always want to have a group of friends that encourage us not hinder us when it comes to doing God's will.

I encourage you to read 2 Samuel 13, this past Sunday we were able to hear how Amon "had a friend" and this friend of Amon ultimately led him to a plot of destruction. A good friend will pray with you through situations and support you in your work for the Lord, not discourage you, and pull you down, and lead you astray.

I want to encourage you today to evaluate your friendships...
            -Who are your friends?
-What influences are they having on your life?
            -What examples are they setting?
-Are they pulling you down spiritually or even mentally?

-What kind of friend are you being?
-Encourage your friends... Hold them accountable in serving the Lord
             -Pray together through situations

2 Samuel 13 (NKJV)

13 After this Absalom the son of David had a lovely sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. Amnon was so distressed over his sister Tamar that he became sick; for she was a virgin. And it was improper for Amnon to do anything to her. But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother. Now Jonadab was a very crafty man. And he said to him, “Why are you, the king’s son, becoming thinner day after day? Will you not tell me?”

Amnon said to him, “I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”

So Jonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (NKJV)

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

Proverbs 18:24 (KJV)

24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Proverbs 27:17 (KJV)

17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

1 Corinthians 15:33 (NKJV)

33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

Job 2:11 (NKJV)

11 Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, each one came from his own place—Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. For they had made an appointment together to come and mourn with him, and to comfort him.

Luke 6:31 (NKJV)

31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.

Determined.

John 5:1-15 (NKJV)

A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda

5 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

Let's admit it Jesus can do some pretty amazing things... and He can do some pretty amazing things in our lives as well. In this passage we hear of Jesus coming to Jerusalem and finding Himself near a pool that was called Bethesda. And at this pool there is a lot of people who are sick with various conditions and as the scripture tells an angel stirred the water and whoever stepped into the water first was made well...

So, have you ever gotten sick, discouraged, depressed? We all have to admit that there are times to where we get in our "ways" or we get to filling so bad that we don't even want to move off the couch to go get some medicine that could give us even the slightest relief from our symptoms. This makes me think how many times we do get stuck in our ways, when we have a situation that we are facing or something important going on how we know, and believe, that God can do it in our lives we just don't move...

You see, in the story there was a "certain man" that was at the pool and it states that he has had is infirmity thirty-eight years, now that's a long time to be stuck in your situation... Many of us would give up hope, stop thinking about healing, and just live with where we are... I mean 38 years.... The man was just laying there in his condition, and Jesus comes on the scene... Do YOU WANT to be made well? This is what Jesus asks the man, Do you WANT to be made well?... Well at first you would think ABSOLUTELY...NO questions asked.. Let's do this! But the man responds saying well, I have no one to put me in the water and every time I try to make my way there someone jumps in before me...

Now just like someone jumping in-front of this man and "takes his healing" so to speak from the water of the pool, the enemy tries to move into your life and take your blessings even while your sitting right beside it... And there too are some of us.. that have been the way we are for so long, that we don't mind God changing the situation and its outcome, we just don't like God changing us and who we are... Many people like being who they are, but they want God to do something big in there life and leave them the way they are...

Sometimes you have to understand that in some situations... YOU are the one holding back your blessing... Don't be okay with Just being Okay.. Know that God WANTS to bless you and He wants MORE of you... You just have to want more of HIM. If you will just make the effort, and give it all you got.. He will meet you right where you are...

If You Love Me...

John 14:23 (NIV)

23 Jesus replied, Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

In reading these words, Jesus simply states that if you love him you will obey his teachings. Once you read chapter 14 of John from the beginning you can get more of an idea of the context of the passage in this story, but as you read this single passage it gets me to thinking... "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching... Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching". It's like this in school maybe elementary or middle school did you ever receive a note that simply stated "Do you Like Me? Yes or No".

Well question is, Do you Love Him?

In verse 23 it states that Jesus replied, Jesus was answering a questions posed by Judas (not Judas Iscariot) 22 Judas  said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”

Jesus tells us that 18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live". For those of us that believe and choose to serve Him, He dwells with us in spirit. We know that in John 14:1 they are comforted knowing that as He said these words, 1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

We know the way... and to If we love Him we will obey His teaching. I want to encourage you to obey the teachings of our Lord. Know that HE (Jesus) is coming back for His children. And you know the way, Jesus is the only way to Eternal Life...

SO MUCH can be taken from this scripture... But I love the parts to where He says that He will not leave us as orphans that He will come to us.. How amazing is it that we have instant family thorough Jesus... and that IF WE LOVE HIM.. that we should want to keep His teaching... think about it.

Praying for you today. Blessed and know that He will Be Back SOON!

Focused.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am for hunting season to roll around. I had the opportunity to use my crossbow in service yesterday and it brought me to a lot of thought about our relationship with God. I used it in an illustration where I brought three people on the stage, one being my wife's grandmother and placed an apple on there head, that although someone believes in bow that it can properly shoot the arrow (bolt) and that they believed that I could make the shot to strike an apple from there head. They believed that I could do it, the problem was although they believed in it... they didn't have the faith to let me do it.

This is us. This is our relationship with God, we believe that God can do what He promises and says He will do most of the time we just don't have the faith to ride it out. We have to understand that just because we believe in something doesn't mean that we have faith in what we believe in.

How strong is your Faith in God?

Chances are it could be stronger... its easy to trust for a bit, but its also easy to be discouraged quickly. We have to learn (train ourselves) to have faith even when we become weak. Many times we go to God in prayer and we believe that He CAN do what we are seeking, asking, or requesting but one small little something can throw us off track. For example, you get a bad report from the doctor and immediately take it to God in prayer for a touch from Him, then weeks later at a follow up you get another bad report and become weary and loose faith. Many times we are right at the edge of God answering a prayer and we run out of steam...

Train your self..Stay FOCUSED. In the same manner chances are you cannot get up right now and run a marathon, but yet you have to train for it.. Train your self to in faith.. Stay in the word of God, lean on His promises day in and day out, pray a little more, and learn to trust Him all the way through knowing that He will see you through.

Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)

19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

To Stressed to Be Blessed!

Each of us was created for a purpose, and that purpose was to worship Him and to do God's will (Colossians 1:16). It is interesting that most of us get to a point in our lives to were we feel so busy and then it hits us, we become stressed to the max. Usually at this point we find ourselves cutting some things out of our schedules, and yes usually it is the things that benefit God that we cut out first... we miss church, we stop attending Bible studies and prayer services, we miss out devotional times, we lack in prayer and personal time with God... It is easier for us as humans being fleshly in nature to not cut the things that are of more interest to us. We enjoy our "desires" especially seeing that doing God will may not always seem as fun as a Carolina football game... But, as the old saying goes... WWJD What Would Jesus Do? Even as a young boy He (Jesus) was committed to "His Father's Business". Our schedules can become as busy as we would like them to be... you fill your calendars with work, school, social activities and many other things. For the most part no one is forcing you to keep your life complicated and stressful all the time. We have a purpose that we loose sight of, and that purpose is to Honor God; to worship Him and to do His will. It is far to easy to forget why we were created by our Heavenly Father. Choose today to start planning your life around God, and not God around your life.

What does your schedule look like?
Do you allow time for God in your daily schedule?
Do you make time to grow spiritually? (i.e. church fellowship, Corporate Worship, Prayer)

As you start allowing God to be in control in your life, and you remove things that you have added to your schedule that complicates it you will start to feel a since of peace and calmness. Doing God's will and enjoying the things that He has truly Blessed you with are your ultimate priority.

Teach your children the importance of worship and what it means to honestly serve the Lord. Yes we have to work, that's common since, but what about all the other things that we add to ourselves that have no benefit to the Kingdom of God? Take a look at your schedule this week, and ask yourself how much of your life is spent worshiping God...

Need some cheese... with that whine!

There are many scriptures and biblical stories that I could use to illustrate the whining church that we see in our country today, but one story that fascinates me to the extreme is the story of Moses leading God's children out of the hands of Pharaoh.

For a people who were in slavery and working as hard as they did once they were delivered they quickly realized that "Freedom wasn't Free" it came with a price...

One way that the children complain to Moses was before they were freed, Moses had a pep talk and conversation of the Promise Land arose, the children complained because the sight of good things to come, caused them to have to work much harder than they did... Many times this is what happens when we do the right thing, the enemy tries to come in and tare us down by making things increasingly hard.  We see this in various areas of our life, church family, our work and school. The enemy wants you to give up and forget about the thought of what God has in store for you.. Stay focused and push through!

During the journey the Israelite's became hungry and before long they made sure that there voice was heard... They were hungry and God provided.. In HIS way.. But, not with earthy food..God provided heavenly food.. Suffering of earthly things for a heavenly benefits is much better than things that this old world can give you. Things of this world are temporary, gifts from Heaven and the things of God are eternal.. Don't Whine and Complain....Endure. God has something much better in store for you...

God's word teaches us to do all things, ALL things without complaining and without disputing (Philippians 2:14) the problem is that is to hard for us... We are fleshly and worried about us, we get to caught up in what matters to us and less about what matters to God and His will in our lives...

DON'T WORRY... BE HAPPY!

In your life try and find joy... Try and look for God's ultimate plan in your life, look past short term pain and give God glory in all that comes your way!

Philippians 2:14 (NKJV)

14 Do all things without complaining and disputing,

Exodus 5:1-22 (NIV)

That same day Pharaoh gave this order to the slave drivers and overseers in charge of the people: “You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making bricks; let them go and gather their own straw. But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don’t reduce the quota. They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.

10 Then the slave drivers and the overseers went out and said to the people, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you any more straw. 11 Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced at all.’” 12 So the people scattered all over Egypt to gather stubble to use for straw. 13 The slave drivers kept pressing them, saying, “Complete the work required of you for each day, just as when you had straw.” 14 And Pharaoh’s slave drivers beat the Israelite overseers they had appointed, demanding, “Why haven’t you met your quota of bricks yesterday or today, as before?”

15 Then the Israelite overseers went and appealed to Pharaoh: “Why have you treated your servants this way? 16 Your servants are given no straw, yet we are told, ‘Make bricks!’ Your servants are being beaten, but the fault is with your own people.”

17 Pharaoh said, “Lazy, that’s what you are—lazy! That is why you keep saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’ 18 Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must produce your full quota of bricks.

Exodus 16:1-4 (NIV)

Manna and Quail

16 The whole Israelite community set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had come out of Egypt. In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.

LIVE. LAUGH. LOVE.

Laughter is good for the soul!
it is important for us to enjoy the life that God has given us...

Its a true fact that life is short....!
You are not promised tomorrow (Proverbs 27:1), we don't know what tomorrow will hold... "Don't worry about tomorrow, let tomorrow worry about its self..." Life being so short and it goes by so fast. I guess I truly didn't realize how fast life was going by until I had kids, now I see that they are growing right before my eyes!

Ashley and I took the boys to Carowinds this past weekend, We have taken Austin many times but this was Preston's first trip to the local theme park. Both of them were filled with joy and excitement to ride rides and see all the entertainment that surrounded us. Both boys were able to ride several rides and to be able to enjoy many areas of the park, we had lunch in Harmony Hall with a live Snoopy Show it was truly a Great Day!

Now that I have given you my family "slide show" of our trip... I want you to understand an important fact that we and including me, often forget we must take time for family and we must enjoy the life that God has given us! (Ecclesiastes 8:15)

There will be many things that come your way that you will regret, we need to learn to LIVE and LEARN... learn from your mistakes and move on... Life is to short to dwell on these things and you can't let them steal your joy in life! DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!

Focus on God and the Life that HE has blessed you with!
LIVE. LAUGH. LOVE.

Proverbs 17:22 (NIV)

22 A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 27:1 (NIV)

27 Do not boast about tomorrow,
for you do not know what a day may bring.

Ecclesiastes 8:15 (NIV)

15 So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 11:8 (NIV)

However many years anyone may live,
    let them enjoy them all.
But let them remember the days of darkness,
    for there will be many.
    Everything to come is meaningless.

Praise you in this Storm...

When we go through a challenging time it is hard to give thought to praising God, we are generally left with the idea of questioning God or at least asking Him to deliver us from our situation.

Trials are hard, valleys are low but Jesus can bring us through them if we are committed to seeking Him, and we are focused during our time of need. One thing that is true is that we will all face a challenging situation in our life, and when we do we will have a choice to make, we will give a "Reaction" the the event that just took place in our life.

I love the story in Acts of Paul and Silas, they were chained and secured in prison following and upset business man, who's slave girl that could earn him money telling fortunes. Seeing that the girl was following him, Paul became annoyed and cast the Demon out, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” (Acts: 1618). Long story short they ended up in jail following the incident... What makes this story unique is that the boys in jail, beaten with rods and not truly knowing what would happen next. It says that they began to start praying and praising God... Now lets be real here... How many of us can say that, that would be us and we could honestly praise during that dramatic time. Me? Well I would probably be in a corner in the fetal position crying sucking my thumb (lol) or begging God for my life...

You See, Paul and Silas chained up (physically), and bound down, locked up or physically stuck in there situation.. Many of us have a situation in our lives that we feel stuck in, or imprisoned to. We feel chained down, burdened with things that our in our lives that are affecting our spiritual walk... We can make a reaction to these chains... a "Chain Reaction" so to speak about these situations... And that reaction should be seeking God and choosing to praise our way out of our situation.

When Paul and Salas prayed and praised God in this terrible situation, the Bible says that their chains were loosed, and not only where their chains loosed it says that everyone with them their chains were too loosed, all the prisoners had been listening to the reaction, the prayers and praise of Paul and Salas. Every door was opened on all the cells and the "foundation" of the jail (situation) was affected... What an incredible testimony that took place on this day, and a great example of what God can do in our lives!

God wants to move in your life and deliver you from what ever you are facing, it doesn't matter how big or small, God can be in control if you will put Him in control of your situation. Choose to Pray through, and Praise during your situation. Your praise could affect the foundation of your problem, free you from what is holding you down, and on top of that the example that you lead during that time, will in one way or the other affect those around you...

Pastor Jonathan W. Pannell III

Acts 16:16-40 (NIV)

Paul and Silas in Prison

16 Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” 18 She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.

19 When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. 20 They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar 21 by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice.”

22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. 23 After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. 24 When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

An Epidemic...

An Epidemic.

Revelation 3:15-16 (NKJV)

15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

There is an epidemic across America that is getting worse by the generation. The Problem, the commitment of the Christian. Some questions to get you started in your thinking…..

What Does God Expect of Me?
What Does it mean to Be a Follower of Jesus?
What IS being a Christian?
What Do I Do for Jesus?
Could I Do More?
Should I Do More for God?
What Example am I setting for My Children?
-My Family?
-Those that I witness to?
What IS enough for God?

There is no doubt that there are still committed Christians in the world today, however there is a fast growing population of what Jesus would call “LUKEWARM” Christians. Lukewarm Christians do more harm than good, why? Honestly it sets a poor example for others to follow, hence the Epidemic… It shows, and teaches “flakiness” or half heart-ed commitment.  Think about it like this, your children as they grow up and if you take them to Sunday School and Church every Sunday, chances are they will never ask “Mommy are we going to church this Sunday…” Children ask this because you taught them  a hit or miss attendance habit that there are other things that get in your way of worship or at least your desire to be in the House of the Lord..

If you haven’t figured out yet, this is one of those “I need steel toe boots” messages….

Churches today struggle with members not giving there all, and to find commitment. The Bible teaches us that we are to commit the things of God to faithful men and women, the problem… there is only the faithful few… And people wonder where God is in there life… Maybe its not where God is in your life, but where you make time for HIM in yours…….

I often hear of churches cancelling services, or closing there doors due to a lack of attendance, you would think that with our Country in the shape that it is in that we would be flocking to the church and to the opportunity to get close to Jesus.

There is only so much a church Pastor and core leadership can do, if you want to see YOUR church Thrive, then commit to it. And encourage others to commit to it.

What will make you on Fire for God?…. What will it take for you to Hunger and Thrust for HIM? Why is Jesus not enough? Why is HE always second or last place in your life?

Jesus wants us to be HOT or COLD, not riding the fence… He is saying you are either IN or OUT… Which is it?

Revelation 3:15-16 (NKJV)

15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,[a] I will vomit you out of My mouth.

2 Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)

And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

John 15 (NKJV)

The True Vine

15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;[a] and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[b] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Proverbs 13:19-25 (NKJV)

19 A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul,
But it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.

20 He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

21 Evil pursues sinners,
But to the righteous, good shall be repaid.

22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,
But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

23 Much food is in the fallow ground of the poor,
And for lack of justice there is waste.

24 He who spares his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

25 The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul,
But the stomach of the wicked shall be in want.

Drifting Away....

Let us Never Forget Where the Blood found us.....

Serving Jesus is the most rewarding choice you will ever make in your life, the benefits are eternal. In times it can also be challenging and hard to stay motivated. However we have to know and understand that God is always with us, and that He is always in control. The Bible tells us that we are to not get tired of serving God, that if we will continue doing it that in His timing we will reap the benefits, meaning you will be blessed but you have to stick to it.

I have a few friends on Facebook we like to go Kayaking and just this past weekend I saw many friends went on a tubing trip and they spent there Saturday drifting down the Catawba River, an enjoyable day with friends. Who doesn't love a great day on the lake. But, I got to thinking about this thing......

To use this as an illustration, This is pretty close to our relationship with God.... Many of us accept Him as our savior, we choose to serve Him and become active in our churches and are running full speed doing His work.... and then. A bump in the road happens, an obstacle, we face something at some point and we become weary. It could be as simple as leading a group at church and a lack of attendance bums us out and we are ready to throw in the towel, or it could be we get hurt by someone, or we face a loss in our lives and loose desire. There are many things that we could face, but no matter what life brings we have to stay focused and always look to Him for guidance.

We often also find ourselves back in our desires for the things that we have been delivered from. Lets just make a honest statement here... Sin is Fun...(or no one would be doing it) and if it wasn't Jesus would have to tell us not to do it!

We need to hold on to the one who saved us, and stay close to Him who has delivered us from the things that once entangled us (sin). Sometimes like my friend who like to drift down the river, Christians drift away from God back toward the world. When you find yourself doing this, remember where the Blood of Jesus found you, what you were delivered from, and the wonderful feeling that it brings you to serve Jesus.

Always choose to serve Him in and out of the storm, God will be faithful to you, you just have to be faithful to Him. Don't catch yourself Drifting away.. stay focused on Him... Stay connected, read your word, stay involved with your church. God wants to bless you, you just have to put in the effort and never give up on Him...

Pastor Jonathan W. Pannell

Hebrews 2:1 (NKJV)

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

James 1:21-25 (NKJV)

21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

2 Corinthians 13:5 (NKJV)

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

James 1:12 (NKJV)

Loving God Under Trials

12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Hebrews 2 (NKJV)

Do Not Neglect Salvation

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

The Son Made Lower than Angels

For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels. But one testified in a certain place, saying:

“What is man that You are mindful of him,
Or the son of man that You take care of him?
You have made him a little lower than the angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor,[a]
And set him over the works of Your hands.
You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”[b]

For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

Bringing Many Sons to Glory

10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 saying:

“I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.”[c]

13 And again:

“I will put My trust in Him.”[d]

And again:

“Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.”[e]

14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. 17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

It's WORTH it to LOVE..Like HE FIRST LOVED US!...

We live in a day were it seems that "mass killings" just happen, and some seemed to be desensitized to it. I write today following a night of a mass shooting that took place in Dallas Texas, I describe it as a mass shooting because four police officers lost there lives. That is four families that are missing someone that they love to night, four people who affected many lives when there life was taken. And then protesting that took place around the country in different cities, one protest demonstration that I heard about took place nearly about thirty minutes away from where I live. And as I drive into work I pass an overload of law enforcement as  they work to ensure safety and prevent future acts following these events. This situation gets me to thinking this morning, where has love left us? The thing is, it hasn't left us anywhere.... WE have LEFT IT!

If you sit back and think about it, people today will kill another over the simplest thing. We have forgotten that God LOVES us ALL, no matter race, gender, ethnicity HE LOVES US...ALL! And we have to show LOVE. We are called out in His word to not only Love our neighbor but to LOVE HIM, because of the fact that He first Loved us... Truth is He, Jesus,  loved us enough to lay down His own life for us... And God loved us enough to Give us His one and only Son that we would have the opportunity to have and accept eternal life that can only be found through Jesus.

God Loves us So much that he knows the number of hairs that we have and doesnt want us to ever face a place the Bible describes as Hell, an eternal death. But He wants us to choose life, He wants us to Choose LOVE and to share Jesus with the World.

So on that note, "WE", we meaning us as "Christians" followers of Jesus for those of us who accept Jesus and the reward of eternal life, we cannot be conformed to this world, be should even want to be like them that don't choose Him, that choose hate over love, that choose death over life, but we should be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our minds. When we do this we discover God's will in our lives and can live the life that He has layed out for us...

Today, I want to ask you to BE AN EXAMPLE of LOVE to SOMEONE... Show them what LOVE is, LOVE that can only be found through JESUS. After all they will too know us by our fruits..

Pray Today for all those affected by the Tragedy in Dallas Texas, the families and friends of those who lost there life. Also pray for this Country that we live in, it truly doesn't matter who the president is if we don't turn back to God. There is NO president that can restore us like Jesus can.

1 John 4:19 (NKJV)

19 We love Him because He first loved us.

Luke 12:6-7 (NKJV)

“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Matthew 7:15-20 (NKJV)

You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Church People........

CHURCH=PEOPLE  PEOPLE=PROBLEMS .....

UNITY is a neat thing, when it works... Unity is defined as the state of being united or joined as a whole. As believers we should remain in unity. That is not always easy though...

I say that church people kill, church people because if you have been in ANY church for ANY amount of time you have either had your feelings hurt or experienced someone who has had there feelings hurt... this seems to be common in MOST churches. One reason for this is we over expect from our churches, we are looking for perfection. And most of the time having unrealistic expectations of our church.

What we have to understand that in a church (at least mine...) it is a place where broken people meet... When you feel a place with brokenness of all types you cannot seek perfection. What you will find is a place where grace and mercy flows from above, you will see humbleness and God move in mighty ways.

To often to many times, we ourselves don't show mercy, or grace to each other, we are to quick to be snappy, or we are short with one another. We don't hurt when our brother or sister hurts, we don't rejoice with them nor do we weep with them... As believers we should be united, in all ways. We are to quick to be hard, and to slow to comfort and show love, the same love that we have been shown by our heavenly father.

On the same coin we are to quick to want to give up, and quit church or to look for another church. Seriously step back and look at it... do you think that you absolutely won't get hurt there either, do you get a divorced from your spouse every time you get upset or they hurt your feelings... As Christians we are not designed to be quitters but conquerors and to have endurance. You shouldn't want to quit every time you get offended, that makes the enemy's job to easy... But, you should over come the works of the enemy and support one another during difficult times as we can be conquerors together..

Let us join together in unity, focusing on one another. Putting others before yourself and sharing love with each other, praying with each other. Understand that no matter where you attend church you will experience brokenness, and hurt. But remember that joining together in unity with Jesus and sharing in God's love will bring peace and comfort and a closeness that only a savior can bring.

Your church is your family, and the enemy wants to destroy your unity and tear down your family. Lets share Jesus, and share love as we lift up and encourage one another..

Blessings-

Ephesians 4:1-6 (NIV)

Unity and Maturity in the Body of Christ

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

John 17:21-24 (NIV)

21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

Romans 12:10 (NIV)

10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

1 John 4:20 (NIV)

20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

God vs. Orlando

Judgment, Wrath, Reap what you sow, justice, act of God, Sodom and Gomorrah… I have seen many post from people like this yes, mostly from “Christians” since the Orlando Massacre took place. I have one BOLD statement to make on this note…

GOD did not strike anyone down because of sin, this was not judgment this was not God’s wrath… if you are saying this and preaching this… YOUR and idiot.

One thing we have to know and understand is that ALL sin to God is equal, SIN is SIN period. There is no question about it. Sin will separate us from God, and God doesn’t have a spreadsheet to tell him which sin is worse or to rank sin, no. Sin is sin and yes, even us Christians, still fall short and sin. The Bible says that we all fall short, and Paul said that he sinned daily…. Face it chances are you have sin in your life, it may not be the same sin as someone else, but to God, it’s just flat out sin.

DON’T JUDGE SOMEONE BECAUSE THEY SIN DIFFERENTLY THAN YOU….

We need to know and understand that God loved the WORLD and sent His son for ALL of us, He desires a personal relationship with all of us, and desires for us ALL to turn from our sins and choose to LIVE for HIM. God is a God of LOVE.

What took place in Orlando is nothing less than HATE and an act of Terrorism.  God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. During this tragic situation we should lean to God and not blame Him for this event.

We cannot scare people into a Relationship with Jesus… Many preachers fill this is necessary, and this is not true.. This is why God gives us a free choice to Choose who we will serve. Any Place of Love is a Voluntary Place.  Share the Love of Jesus, the Heart of God is a wonderful place full of mercy and grace.

So NO God is not responsible for this act of Terrorism, and even today, He so loved the world that He gave HIS son up for it, to take on the sins of the WORLD and we just have to make the choice to believe in Him, serve Him and Love Him.

Remember, God LOVES YOU. No Matter Who you are.

Think about it. AND PRAY for the Orlando Community and all the families affected by this tragic loss. Share the LOVE of Jesus, NOT Hate (HATE = Sin… just sayin’)

Blessings-

John 3:16-17 (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

1 John 4:8 (NIV)

8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Romans 3:10 (NKJV)

10 As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no, not one;

1 John 3:15 (NKJV)

15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV)

33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

Matthew 7:1-5 (NKJV)

Do Not Judge

7 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
